Kamdyn Ellis is the man.

The chemistry between Kam and Laney is undeniable, and after months of ignoring what’s clearly evident, Laney gives in. Allowing herself one night with Kam, no strings attached, no commitment to speak of. Alone, under the stars, on the fifty-yard line, Kam and Laney set out to discover if what they have is real, or just one steamy southern night.

The Southern Nights series is a compilation of three novellas following the story of Kam and Laney, an all-star football player destined for greatness and the sassy city girl who challenges him on every level. This collection is steamy, fun, flirty and full of heart!

The Southern Nights Series (The Southern Nights Series #1)The Southern Nights Series by M. Never

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have to be honest. I was not sure what this was about when I picked it up, but I loved M. Never’s Moto and Trinity and The Decadence After Dark Series…. you see where this is going right? I’m a true fan of her ménage and BDSM themed stories, but this looked so different and I wasn’t sure I would love it like her other works. And yes, this was pretty tame for Ms. Never….no threesomes, no non-con, but I still fell in love with Lemon and Kam.

Laney (Lemon) Summers has moved with her dad from New York to his small hometown where things revolve around football. The hot quarterback Kamdyn (Kam) Ellis has his sights on her, but when she knows he is a player and when he calls her “sugar” she knows she doesn’t want to be just another girl to him and shuts him down. Things change when he is injured and she takes on the job to tutor him while he recovers. It doesn’t end there…. you would think this would be a quick opposites attract and they get their HEA. Not so fast, we follow them to college and beyond and it turns out that they are both forced to make choice on what is most important to them.

I actually was surprised how much I fell for these two. At times I wanted to smack Kam upside the head, but then I also wanted to do that same for Laney for jumping to conclusions so quickly. I really loved how the story was written to follow them through so many aspects of their lives and the transitions were done so well. The story didn’t slow down and give a ton of needless fluff it just hopped to the next phase off their lives with a paragraph or two to catch us up.

Hero 5 stars / Heroine 5 / Steam 5 stars / Plot 5 stars / Overall 5 Stars
